DAY 4 - 7
We will be based on The Isle of Mull for 5 nights, 4 days, in which we will experience a number of spectacular places of ancient magik aswell as some deep magik immersion at Torloisk House and its ancient woodland. Mull's landscape varies wildly: the West side of the island is dominated by steep cliffs and rocky shore, while the East is softer with lush greenery. The coastline stretches over 300 miles and is rife with rugged bays, sea caves, pristine beaches, and cascading waterfalls. Driving across Mull is mainly via single track roads with passing places. We will flow with the weather as we determine the order in which we do each of the following:
We will drive 90 miniutes through spectacular scenery of Mull to Fionnphort where we will take the ferry across to the remote Iona Island. There we will visit ancient Iona Abbey: the place where Merlin, under the guise of St Columba, inaugurated the Del Riada line of Arthurian Kings to build a powerbase of magik. While on Iona Island we will walk through glorious landscape, visit the famed beach where the Vikings first landed in Scotland and trek to find the fabled, elusive 'Fountain of Eternal Youth'.
The mysterious majestic stone circle at Lochbuie at the head of a tranquil bay on the south of the island, surrounded by mountains, and home to a medieval castle and a manor house, both belonging to Clan MacLaine of Lochbuie. The setting is a spectacular ampitheatre of nature in which the stones resound. Myth has it that the stones act as a portal to cross dimensions of time
The strange 50 million year old 'Fingals Cave" Hebridean sea cave phenomenon in the Atlantic Ocean billed as one of the world’s most spectacular caves. Formed by a Paleocene lava flow, the cave is sculpted from hexagonally jointed basalt pillars reaching high and deep, met by the wild sea surrounding the Island creating an epic mythic vista. This cave that has baffled geologists hosts a plethora of strange paranormal occurrences aswell as source of magik myth. Said to be the home of the great giant of Celtic mythology Fionn MacCumhaill, according to myth this cave was built by him to create a path from Ireland to Scotland via the Giants Causeway of Northern Ireland.
